School is out, idea to do for summer? Recharge your mind with Technology!

In Technology, Training for Staff, Website on June 19, 2014 at 7:24 am

A great tip from blogger Steven Baule:

As school is out nearly everywhere at this point, I thought it might be a time to look for some summer professional development options. One of the easiest places to find free summer courses for teachers is at Open Culture’s list of free and open online courses, which offers courses from archaeology to psychology. Free Tech4 Teachers also has a listing of free video lessons, apps, and e-books. Stanford University is offering an online math course for parents and teachers. UCIrvine offers a course called “What differentiation should look like.” Other free online courses are available at PBS’s Teacherline to help integrate digital instruction. What will you learn for free this summer?

This is the great way to recharge your mind with Technology!

Enjoy!

Apple offering refurbished iPads for limit time…

In Tablet, Technology, Website on June 6, 2014 at 7:43 am

Folks in the market for an iPad may want to check out the refurbished section of Apple’s online store. The company is currently hosting some sort of sale on its tablets, with several models showing ‘Special Limited Time’ pricing.

The deals start with the first generation iPad mini (16GB, Wi-Fi only), which has been discounted down to $219, and go all the way up to the iPad Air. You can get a refurbished 64GB Air, with built-in cellular support, for $699…

For those who aren’t familiar with Apple’s refurbished products, these aren’t your typical remanufactured goods. Apple tests and certifies all of its refurbished devices, and includes a new battery, outer shell and full 1-year warranty.

If you see something you like, you better act fast, as inventory is very limited. If you can wait, remember that Apple is expected to unveil new iPad models this fall, so that plus the holiday season should bring about some decent discounts.

To access Apple’s online refurbished store, click here.

Have a great start of summer!
