iSchoolBox for your school

In SmartPhone, Tablet, Technology on March 26, 2013 at 2:27 pm

The iSchoolBox App is a FREE service by 806 Technologies, Inc. that helps school administrators create mobile apps for their schools. Simply create an account and in a matter of minutes you can set up an app for your school in the Apple App Store without any prior programming knowledge!  And the best part is that it’s absolutely free for schools to create an app!

It allows school to make it easier for parent to locate information from their child’s campus from their Smartphone or Tablet either Android or iPhone.

Check out the site: http://www.ischoolbox.com/

If this is something you can do for your campus, it doesn’t require programming and it is pretty simple to use.

Thanks,

Donny 🙂

Four Great IOS Math Apps…

In SmartPhone, Tablet, Technology on March 19, 2013 at 9:19 am

FOUR GREAT IOS MATH APPS

The Math Learning Center offers four great iOS apps for your students that use discovery learning and are free. The Geoboard is a tool for exploring a variety of mathematical topics introduced in the elementary and middle grades. Learners stretch bands around pegs to form line segments and polygons and make discoveries about perimeter, area, angles, congruence, fractions, and more.

The Number Rack features rows of movable, colored beads that encourage learners to think in groups of fives and tens, helping them to explore and discover a variety of addition and subtraction strategies.

Number Pieces Basic helps students develop a deeper understanding of place value while building their computation skills with multi-digit numbers. Students can use the number pieces to represent multi-digit numbers, count, regroup, add, and subtract. The drawing tools allow students to label representations and show their understanding. There is also a more advanced version of this same app, Number Pieces, that has additional features for representing larger numbers and multiplication and division concepts.

Enjoy!
